Virtually any tone, from rumbling to cutting, can be easily dialed in. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 70 humbucking pickups mounted in black plastic pickup rings, a Powerocker synchronized tremolo bridge, a graphite nut. The RS225 features a birch top on a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret maple fingerboard with black dot position markers.
The B-2 Tone Circuit is a new low-noise design that lets the player equalize the treble and the bass response of his instrument. The RS225 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1984. The RS-900 bass features a specially designed active filter network to increase its versatility. This wide response single coil pickup has plenty of punch and depth, with an amazingly clear and clean top end. Like someone else said, if you do swap, maybe hold on to the original, just in case. However, I am so happy with the way it sounds, I haven't bothered. Every note on the neck rings out true and clear with no false tones or dead spots.Īll Roadster basses get their distinctive sound from the Ibanez Super 4 bass pickup. When I bought my Roadstar 2 in a junk store, I fully expected to swap out the pickups. Each neck is analyzed the frequency response is leveled by embedding tuned steel rods in the neck under the fingerboard. Each Roadster bass neck is individually tuned to eliminate this phenomenon. Most basses have dead notes and resonant notes, making the sound unbalanced and downright frustrating at times. The neck of each Roadster bass reveals an amazing bit of guitarmaking technology. Four machine bolts mate with threaded inserts embedded in the neck for a neck body joint that is tighter, more rigid and more secure than any previous system. Roadster basses also feature the Ibanez exclusive Quadra-lock 4-bolt neck mounting system. The slotted design tailpiece allows for fast and easy string changes and the extra long intonation adjustment accommodates any string gauge.
The heavy duty, precision die cast bridge tailpiece combination is a new standard in response and sustain. The tuned response neck is a solid pleasure to play and the B-2 Tone Circuit gives you a versatility other basses can only envy. That's a lot like my first guitar, a white 1985 RS440, which was a year before they introduced the Edge trem.
It's a model in the Roadstar II Deluxe Series. The RS-900 is everything you could want in a long scale bass. I believe that's a 1986 RG440 in Pearl Blue. Here’s a bass you just can’t afford not trying. A new pickup design, new bridge and tailpiece, advanced electronics and an amazing new neck construction technique put the Roadster basses in a class by themselves. New finishes were introduced combined with cosmo black hardware.Roadster Series Basses are no less an improvement over similar designs than their six-stringed brothers. In the US catalog of 1997 it was listed as the RG570.
In 19 a similar model but with special flaked finishes was issued as the RG517. Countersunk Phillips flathead screws in a variety of finishes and lengths, for humbucking pickup mounting rings. In 19 the RG570 wasn't listed in the catalogs, but it returned unchanged in 19.
The RG570 was equipped with Vintage 1 and 2 humbucking pickups and an Edge tremolo until 1992 when it was updated with the new Lo Pro Edge tremolo and V7 and V8 pickups. It is based on the the RG550, but features pickup mounting rings instead of a pickguard and typically comes with rosewood fingerboard but some were produced with maple fingerboard. Features include a basswood body, pickups in an HSH configuration and a double locking tremolo. The Ibanez RG570 is an RG series electric guitar model introduced in 1989 as part of the Roadstar series.
